STANLEY ASSEMBLY TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES NEW TRANDUCER PULSE AND IMPACT TOOLS WITH A PSI CONTROLLER: AN ACCURATE AND ERGONOMIC WAY TO ASSEMBLE THREADED FASTENERS TO 700 NM.
September 1, 2007
Stanley Assembly Technologies offers a new range of pistol grip pulse and impact tools that enable one handed operation to 700 Nm. A PSI-C controller enables transducer control of the tightening process. PA pulse tools have max torque values from 13 to 120 Nm. KA mechanical pulse tools range from 18 to 220 Nm; and KB impact tools range from 67 to 700 Nm.
The PSI-C controller includes quality limits for target torque and pulse counts to detect incomplete assembly cycles such as cross threads, re-hits, strip outs and interrupted cycles. Bolt counting verifies the number of fasteners assembled with complete cycles to enable error proofing of a work station. The PSI-C works with all types of transducer pneumatic tools including pulse, impact, and continuous drive. Other benefits include:
- Simple Menu programming reduces set-up time to less than a minute.
- Red or Green lights signal the operator of cycle status for each fastener and the total assembly sequence.
- Optional data collection include serial, network and a data transfer unit for date stamping, statistics and data transfer.
- Elimination of signal lines or tool porting reduces installation cost.
“Stanley offers tools and controllers that offer the ergonomic benefits of one handed operation and overcome the challenges of accurate torque measurement with pulse and impact tools” noted Joe Jerdonek, Product Manager at Stanley Assembly Technologies.
